From 1 January 2014, as part of the Dutch Advertising Code, the special code Advertising Code Social Media (RSM) will come into effect. With this he will apply to the entire advertising industry. The RSM makes a start with regulating advertising and marketing activities via social media.
If the public is encouraged with a (financial) reward to advertise a company via social media, then there is social media marketing. The RSM does not forbid this practice in principle, but demands that this be given openness.
